It’s great to be a part of the Morpeth Leisure Centre project which incorporates a six-lane swimming pool with spectator gallery, a learner pool, spa facilities, a four-court sports hall, a new 100 station gym, a dedicated spinning studio, two fitness studios, a café area and soft play along with a new community services hub.

We supplied powder coated and stainless steel Orbis glass infill balustrades to 3 stairs. 84m of 316 grade stainless steel (bright polished) Orbis balustrade to the spectator gallery (compliant with the high loading requirements of 1.5kN/m and 3.0kN/m.) and café area. Then finally some access hoops and edge guarding to the spa pool.

A key design consideration that stands out on this project was ensuring the spectator balustrade didn’t clash with the lifting pins and concrete joins on the pre-cast slabs. A detailed site survey was carried out pre-install to identify all potential clashes. This greatly contributed to reduced time on site at Morpeth Leisure Centre during the install and minimised the challenges faced by our installers.
