Delta’s bespoke glass balustrades, compliant with standards required for an airport environment (including blast resistant), ensured the design brief of a ‘bright and airy interior incorporating natural light’ was met at the £1 billion Manchester Airport Terminal 2 Extension.
Our knowledge of the urgency and time constraints of installing within a live environment, enabled Delta’s dedicated team to work with Laing O’Rourke to fit within the complex programme of works.
Former Project Manager for Laing O’Rourke, had this to say on his experience working with Delta:
“Working with Delta Balustrades was a pleasure. The architectural metalwork package for the MAGT2 was a major element of works which required intense collaboration and partnership to complete the detailed design elements of the works.
Delta Balustrades’ design team worked together with myself and Pascall and Watson to deliver a design which was either to specification or an improvement to the specification and deliver exactly to the specification without compromising cost or quality.
The actual installation was of high quality and to excellent Health and safety management.
DBS showed many quality control process through inception – completion, this was supported by creating mock up samples at their factory and utilising DBS quality control procedures when signing off works this resulted in zero snags at completion
The Manchester Airport T2 extension programme was complex, logistically challenging, and unique with having several challenges compared to a normal construction project.
DBS was able to work collaboratively in designing ASIAD compliant products and helped design many bespoke elements of the project for example the immigration gates at late notice.
Dela Balustrades is my first choice for architectural metalwork, you know you will receive great technical knowledge alongside a motivated project delivery team and from a commercial perspective there is no hidden costs.“
