DON’T DREAM OF WINNING, TRAIN FOR IT

Posted on 26th September 2016

The shops may be filling up with Christmas paraphernalia, but it will take a while for memories of 2016’s triumphant summer of sporting success to fade.

Both Team GB and Para GB performed better than ever at the Olympics, bringing home a record medal haul and a catalogue of inspirational stories about what it takes to achieve your goals.

Mo Farah’s mantra of ‘don’t dream of winning, train for it’ is one that we share at Delta Balustrades.  None of our team is likely to be shattering any world records on the track, but we completely subscribe to the philosophy that training is critical to achieving your goals.

It’s for that reason that all our installation teams are thoroughly and regularly trained to ensure that every project is installed safely and to the very highest standards of quality and compliance. Training encompasses both an understanding of our product ranges, the components required in delivering a robust installation and the practical skills needed on site.

Our philosophy also acknowledges the fact that our installers’ training needs to be supported by our knowledge and technical expertise.  Just as Olympic athletes need their coach to support their achievements, our installers rely on our technical support to develop the design, calculate the loading requirements and answer any site specific requirements.

And just like Team GB and Para GB, we also believe in the importance of team work.  That’s why we not only ensure an interdisciplinary approach across our in-house design, technical and installation teams, but also work closely with clients, architects and contractors for a seamless approach to delivering a scheme on site.

The brief increase in the number of employees cycling to work and popping out for a run at lunch time is unlikely to last as the autumn weather closes in. Our commitment to training and teamwork, however, is here to stay.
